Enter the May contest! Win some bling!
Hi! I want to say hello to anyone who might happen by the site who I met at the Romantic Times convention. I promised to give away a vampire necklace on the site this month like the one I gave away at the convention. I’m a little behind on getting the info posted, but I promise to do the drawing on time at the end of the month. The necklace, which I designed myself, features a carved bat with some lovely art glass beads suspended from it. I think any red-blooded vampire fan would love it!

I would love to have that!! It is very nice and I would wear it every chance I had.
We do the email addy thing again?
Will you be writing any about your experiences there?
I am not sucking up here but it'd be interesting to hear a little bit if you'd care to.
I have never realized that there were such thigs and that people actually go. (Such a sheltered life here.)
Jo, thanks! I'm glad you like it. I made a version of it for myself and it looks pretty good if I do say so myself. :-)
Pomme, Sure, give your info again and I will know that you visited/entered again in May. The RT convention is pretty much one party after another. There were luncheons where they gave awards to various authors for favorite books and costume banquets with themes like "vampires of the old west." There was dancing almost every night, mixers with free books and opportunities to meet the authors. Then there was a huge booksigning.
In the daytime there were workshops for aspiring writers and fun events for people who just came as readers/fans.
I participated in one of the vampire panel discussions and I think that people enjoyed asking questions about writing paranormal fiction.
The cover model pageant is always a big favorite. These guys "campaign" all week for your vote for favorite model so you get to be on a first-name basis with them after a while.
For authors, there are opportunities to meet fans and give out free trinkets, which people seem to enjoy. There's a giveaway lane and the big baskets are given away by drawing in a big room they call Club RT.
All in all it was a fun but exhausting week.
That's really nice raven, and I'm glad to hear you had a great time. :)
